What sized plant pot do I need?

The size of the plant pot you need depends on various factors, particularly; the size of your plant. Smaller plants fit perfectly in our 16cm pot, while larger varieties enjoy our 21cm pot.

Which flowers and plants prefer ceramic pots?

Tropical plants – which typically enjoy moist soil – thrive when planted in ceramic pots. This is because pots made with this material hold in moisture, allowing them to go longer between watering.

Can ceramic pots go outside in summer and winter?

Ceramic pots can bring beauty to your outside space or garden, but often are unable to survive the winter. Similarly to unglazed terracotta, glazed ceramic pots have no capacity for soil expansion, causing them to crack as soil freezes. Even the smallest crack can cause your ceramic pot to split in two! We would recommend reserving them for indoor use only during the colder months.

Do ceramic plant pots need a dish?

Like most, ceramic plant pots should sit in a dish. All plants require a pot with ample drainage to avoid becoming waterlogged, so we recommend always using a pot - like our ceramic and terracotta options - that includes drainage holes and a saucer to catch any water.

Can you plant directly into a ceramic pot?

Yes! You can plant directly into a ceramic pot so long as it has drainage holes. Without drainage holes, your plant can become waterlogged which will eventually cause rot. Alternatively, you can place a pre-potted plant inside a ceramic plant pot, and lift it out into the sink when it requires watering.
