Ilex is in season in the autumn and winter. Berries ripen in late autumn, usually in November or December.

How to care for your Ilex

To care for your cut ilex berries, follow the below steps:

  • All branches with woody stems should be recut diagonally and split base of stem with secateurs to increase water flow.
  • Remove all excess foliage before placing in cool water.
  • All foliage should be above the waterline and water should be changed regularly.
  • Your berries will respond best to temperatures between 10 and 15°C.
