Advice for women starting their careers?

Find your passion. If you love what you do and do what you love, you are likely to succeed.

What has been your most pivotal career moment?

When I was given the opportunity to run the venerable Estée Lauder brand years ago, I was able to build upon its heritage to create its modern future. Today the brand is thriving.

Your leadership style in one word:

All-in.

What would you like your leadership legacy to be?

That I’ve led with heart and passion, and that I have brought great women with me along the way.

How do you balance your work and life? Is this important?

What is important is focusing on being fully present and doing your best in each moment — whether that is for your family, your career or importantly, you.

Secret work weapon:

I’m an eternal optimist.

Favourite quote:

From Mrs. Estée Lauder, of course: “I didn’t get here by wishing for it or hoping for it, but by working for it.”

“Take new risks, try new things and travel the world”

What do you hope for the future of women in business?

A world where all women are fully supported to bring their best selves to all that they do – work, home and life.

An inspiring book you would give to another woman:

My truly favorite book is from childhood and it’s called “I Like to Be Me.” There’s nothing better than being your authentic self. I would also strongly recommend Leonard Lauder’s new memoir, “The Company I Keep: My Life in Beauty."

Zoom background accessories:

Gorgeous, fresh flowers from FLOWERBX.

Your personal mantra:

“Do the thing that counts, and then don’t count it.”

What has been your biggest challenge in being a woman in business?

My biggest challenge, and blessing, in life has been raising my children.

Heels or flats:

Flats now... heels Fall 2021.

If you were a flower, what would you be, and why?

A white magnolia — symbolizing femininity, perseverance, nobility and beauty.
